  • Does anyone know any teenage novels with heroes?

I need to find a novel (young adult/teenage) that has a hero in it; it doesn't really have to be a real hero in the sense that he/she saves the world, just a hero.

Thanks :)Does anyone know any teenage novels with heroes?
the twilight saga is an awesome series i loved it it is an odd romance thriller that is between a vampire and a human id read it if i were u its such a great book bella saves edward in the second book so i guess u could call it a hero book :)

Does anyone know any teenage novels with heroes?
Most every book has a hero. That's the main purpose of most books. I would recommend any book that interests you. The main character ALMOST always is the hero. (there are few exceptions). But a couple I would recommend are:

Harry Potter (can't go wrong with Harry)

VC Andrews books (VC is the author)

Seriously any book in the ';teen'; section will pretty much give you what you're looking for.

Well, I have always looked at near any of the boys in ';The Outsiders'; as Heroes, minus Steve and Tim... And I don't think that's going to be changing any time soon.

So, yes, ';The Outsiders';, by SE Hinton.
The title is Hero by perry morre very good
Bella Swan in Twilight...she saves Edward from himself

You find out your teenage daughter (13-15) is pregnant, how as a parent do you react?

    Abortion?

    Adoption?

Keep it, but let her baby off as your own?You find out your teenage daughter (13-15) is pregnant, how as a parent do you react?
At the point you find out, it is really too late to do much. It is her body, the abortion is her choice, not yours, same with adoption. I would not take the baby as my own. If my daughter was old enough to have sex, she is old enough to deal with consequences. I would help her, but she would be the one missing out on good times to stay home with baby. I would make sure she finished school, and help her with college, but, yeah, you just hope that doesn't happen. You find out your teenage daughter (13-15) is pregnant, how as a parent do you react?
It completely depends on a multitude of different things. I think for a mother it would be silly to have one set answer to this. It depends on the daughter's maturity level, ambitions in life, her actual OPINION! as well as financial state. If she had only been pregnant for a very short while, and really wasn't ready for a child, I'd probably suggest an abortion, as the baby wouldn't be developed and adoption is just a bit of a shame, and could turn out badly.

I might consider keeping it, if i could manage looking after another child.
    I would be seriously disappointed!

I would stand by any decision that she makes, but I would push for adoption. I think that if she goes around school being ';the pregnant one'; then she may learn that having sex has repercussions. I feel that there are so many loving homes that want children that we could find a great family to take care of it.

I would not pass it off as my own! I have raised my children and I will not raise hers! If she wants to keep it she will learn how to deal with it!
I am 15 and pregnant. My mom was so DISAPPOINTED in me, but in the end all she wanted to do was help. I am keeping my baby, I am raising it, I am taking care of it, but with my mom's love and support. You need to just talk to her. Please do not choose abortion, it's only thinking of her self and not the baby she created. If she is not obligated to raise a baby, give it up for adoption. In all the choices you two are going to have to make, you have to think of the baby. Would the baby want to be killed before it has life? Am I able to raise a baby is this kind of household? Will I be a fit mom for this baby? In the end, constantly keep thinking of the baby. It's about the baby now, not her or you.
    I would do neither

i would be angry, but id support her, and convince her father to do the same

I would never pretend the kid is my own!! That is mean as hell!!!

She made the mess if she's embarrassed, tough luck. And i would not be embarrassed in the slightest

Doesnt mean youve raised your child wrong, its more about the child being in peer pressure id say.

I would take care of the baby so she could continue studying.
I have a daughter and my first reaction would be disappointment. Disappointed that she valued her body so cheaply she gave it to the first guy that looked at her, and even more disappointed that she wasn't careful. I would be saddened by the life I know she would miss out on.

I would support her in every way I could, regardless of the decision she made.
none of the options would be for me to make, its her choice only. id support my daughter whatever she decided to do, id be upset that she got herself in that situation at such a young age and now has to devote her life to a baby rather than enojying herself and getting a career etc but as her mum id support her no matter what. i just hope i never find her in that situation, i want her to make something of herself before having kids.
no, no and no. i'd cry in private but i'd be strong and supportive, i'd ask HER what she wants and get her to have a serious long think. i'd also contact the boy and his parents so we could all discuss it together. after all, it takes 2 to make a baby
i know this will cause td and public out cry but i think abortion would be a best option she is only a child herself and accidents do happen she has her whole life in front of her and she clearly would not make a good parent at this age she must however be forced to accept her wrongdoing and then be allowed to move on from it this will be a tough lesson and she will need support from the people who care for her
Don't have an abortion!! keep it you can always give it up for adoption or raise it as your own.. everyone keeps saying its her body and her choice BUT guess what she is 13!! a child herself she does not know what she wants or needs. Keep her in school and be there to support her.
Don't be stern with her, she'll feel crushed and the last thing she needs is her mother hanging over her. You need to help her and don't tell her how YOU feel because she'd probably already drowning in her own emotions.

Just Always be there to hold her hand no matter what.
Well i know this is to the parents of girls but i only have twin boys right now and they are 5months old. And if they came home and told me there girlfriend was pregnant i would flip and i would be very disappointed in him. But i would support him and his girlfriend.
I can't say I'd be pleased. But the thing is, a pregnant woman is a pregnant woman whether she is 13 or 30. I would try to help her decide what SHE wants by keeping my feelings out of the equation and pointing out her options. Then, I would support her decision-- whatever it was.
definatley not abortion!! if she can have sex she can take care of her baby. she has to learn the conciquences for her bad decisions.

    God bless her
    Adoption
Be there for her and support her in whatever decision she decides to do
I would tell her to keep it and that we all will take care of it!!! I wouldn't be mad at her at all!!
i would let her know all her options...ad the decision is hers to make..and i would support what ever it was she chose.....
I wouldn't have a retard for a daughter in the first place but on the hypothetical chance: adoption.
abortion is first option right after i beat the teen so badly that she will prolly miscarry anyway
    ';honey, get me a coathanger!';

Im 25 and never really used makeup before (except through a teenage faze) so I have no idea how to really use?

the stuff and what to buy? I have fair skin what would be a good foundation? I only really need something to even out the dark area under my eyes from over working any advice? And dont tell me sleep Im working on that but I work 60hour weeks as an administrator, plus im in sciences at university so sleep is hard to findIm 25 and never really used makeup before (except through a teenage faze) so I have no idea how to really use?
All I have to say is BARE MINERALS. It is the best makeup, natural looking with a quick application. People won't even really notice that you're wearing makeup, they will just think your skin looks great. You can order it online, match it to your skintone and it comes with a step by step application DVD. I think with your important job you should use this stuff and look like the professional that you are!Im 25 and never really used makeup before (except through a teenage faze) so I have no idea how to really use?
Oh my! You are one busy lady!

If you want somethin fast and nice. You should try 2 things:

the yellowish concealer and the Hollywood foundation from LAminerals. I ordered it a few weeks ago and i LOVE IT!

It is my holy grail in makeup world.

I ordered samples first for like $1 each, and they shipped em free. Nice.

I apply the concealer with an eyeshadow brush then smooth it out with my finger. It's kinda creamy for a powder, stays really well. Makes your eye area REALLY BRIGHT!

Then I use a Kabuki brush to apply the mineral foundation.

If you don't wear much makeup, that's probaly all you would need except for maybe mascara??? I dunno.

Oh sorry....yahoo won't let me type the dot com after LAminerals..but you get the idea.
go in one of the dept stores for some good free tips at the cosmetics counter
Samantha, the best foundation I ever used (and still do) is at aularale.com/7002. The cover stick(s) along with creme to powder foundation works great. Pat the product(s) over the area you are covering until it is even toned and then proceed with the rest of your make up application - you can find instructional videos at your local library. However, I recommend that you also use the skin care regimen as well as the Vitamin C Firming Serum. Drink much more water than you now do, eat more fruit/veggies and get and take a good vitamin/mineral supplement. I understand about long days/weeks. Just do the best that you can.
My advice would be to go to Nordstroms, sephora, or any place that provides free makeovers. Tell them how you want it to look, and they will walk you through the whole thing. When they are done applying the make-up they give you a chance to buy anything that they just applied. They are also good for answering all your questions about make-up. It sounds like ur pretty busy though so do this when u have time. hope i helped :) good luck.
Here is a great link to find answers and to learn how to do your makeup. Good luck

Is there anything at all immoral about being an unwed teenage mother?

God has forgiven all sins for all who ask.

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Is there anything at all immoral about being an unwed teenage mother?
No, but it might make life less fun than being a married twenty-something mother who had time to enjoy her teenage years first.

The ideas that Chrstianity has about ';unwed'; are simply that things go better with firm friendships...and marriage (with God involved) is the firmest of friendships.

But no, if you're a mother now then good for you, enjoy your time with your child and use your mates/parents for all the help they can give you...it's pretty hard to do it alone. Is there anything at all immoral about being an unwed teenage mother?
Now the 'Pubs are backtracking on the morality of it all now that it hits close to home. Looking beyond this grubby little presidential campaign, I think it's still a TOUCH immoral when an unwed teen girl spreads her legs lasciviously eagerly expectant of a man's manhood. She should have joined a feminist commune, where she'll have no further interest in sex whatsoever...
The immoral part was them having intercourse outside of marriage.

For the father, the other immoral act was not supporting the child.

But, by keeping %26amp; raising the child, the mother is being highly moral.
Yes and no. The ideal and intended situation would have been for you to wait until marriage to not only have sex, but have a child. However, EVERY baby is a blessing, so you've been blessed.
Ole' Palin gave McCain the Cold shoulder at that convention and I'm sure McCain was told all too late about her daughter and blew up.
Doesn't bother me. Not something I'd choose (even if I did have the required parts) but it's your call. All the best to you and your sprog. :)
only in Palins mind (and of course with like minded individual)

  • Did everyone see the Youtube video of 6 teenage girls beating the **** out of another teenage girl?

Your thoughts on this video. (I will never understand teenage girls)Did everyone see the Youtube video of 6 teenage girls beating the **** out of another teenage girl?
ive seen it yes Did everyone see the Youtube video of 6 teenage girls beating the **** out of another teenage girl?
    I have not seen this nor have I heard of the video, so you need to post the link. However the concept doesn't surprise me, because people need their friends to help beat someone up %26amp; can't do it themselves. I can hear it now ';I'm going to kick your *** %26amp; I have my 6 friends here to help me do it, cause I can't do it myself';

What would be funny was if the one girl kicked the crap out of all 6 of the other teenage girls, but one of the 6 would probably have filed a lawsuit.
sorry, if you find ,you can share me, thanks:)
jealousy killed the girl (sorry this really isn't funny)
I have only heard of it.
    no i didnt

Spin the bottle is it childish or just good old teenage fun?

well last week i went to a party and we played spin the bottle where we kiss. but then we got bored and made the rule that you have to bite there bottom lip. is this ok and normal or just an excuse to fool around. i didn't have a problem with it and its not like we were forced to do this. also nothing sexual came out of it.

(im a 15 year old sophmore and everyone else was either 15 or 16)Spin the bottle is it childish or just good old teenage fun?
No I think its just good old teenage fun! You were all just experimenting and hey, if I had the chance to play spin the bottle now (I'm 16) I'd go for it!

It's just a bit of fun and everybody loves the tension of when the bottle spins and stuff...

So don't worry about it! xSpin the bottle is it childish or just good old teenage fun?
Spin the bottle is a rite of passage for teenagers. Go ahead and play it as often as can...it's fun and pretty harmless.

Gees, I'm still playing spin the bottle now and I'm really old. Sadly my game of ';spin the bottle' is when I fall asleep after drinking beer and the bottle falls to the floor and spins

Oh, whoever said 'Hey, let's play spin the bottle!' is probably just desperate for a makeout.

But don't worry about it, good old teenage fun, unless you think that akiss means something very important.
Yeah it's all good fun, If everyone's comfortable with it. You (the group) can make it as childish or adult as you want

    Childish shenanigans all the way!
It's fine, it's not like you guys were handing out blow jobs. But, make sure everyone's comfortable with it.
well i think its great ^_^.. lol liek your new rule.. must try that out..

But anyway its a fun game if everyone agrees to play WITHOUT pressure. Have fun next time :)

    Its ok
well yea it is fine ^^ and fun but anyway who cares..... so what if it is childish....... who cares what others think? just enjoy yourself ;)
    no its fine and normal
i just think that it is fun
u do if if u want to
    nothing wrong with that.

i play it where we hook up

    its just good fun =]

It has abercrombie and fitch everyone shops here, Sun Diego great place to shop in the summer adorable bikinis, reference and forever 21 where you can find all the cute so cal trends and charlotte russe. You definately need a pair of skinny jeans and x-large sunglasses. Rainbow( the brand not literally rainbow) flip-flops are pretty popular. As for more accessories many girls have Coach. Coach is a highly popular brand here. I hope i heleped i love san diego hope you do too! What is the style like in california sandiego for a teenage girl?
You're gonna love san diego, most girls shop at like hollister and abercrombie and stuff, but if your style is different from that you'll still be okay most people in san diego are really friendly and it doesnt really matter what your style is.
If you shop at Hollister, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Nordstrom, etc. you'll be fine. That least thats how it is for me. If thats not your style its not like theres just one style here, you'll find something. Youre gonna love SAN DIEGO! (i do)

Is the Nokia 5800 (touch screen) a good phone? And is the Blackberry range good for a teenage girl?

give reviews please! also add any other touch screen phones that you like and think is good for a teenage girl!Is the Nokia 5800 (touch screen) a good phone? And is the Blackberry range good for a teenage girl?
yeah nokia 5800 is a wicked phone but quite confusing like for example the scrolling part is a bit dodgy.

Blackberry is an excellent range for teenage girls. I suggest either Pearl or Curve. They are so near perfect. The only problem with Blackberries is that the battery life is a bit short depending on the usage.

If it was a choice between Blackberry + Nokia 5800 for a teenage girl, I would go for a Blackberry.

    Good Luck.

    Hello,

I am a 20-year-old man living in London. I am a professional photographer and recently set up a program working with ill youth. We started in about December and have worked with addiction, mental health issues and other illnesses. We work with all youth up to the age of 18 and are making good progress. I have no medical knowledge but I have a lot of experience myself. My Dad died when I was 13 and my Mum started beating me and my siblings. I became a heavy drinker/smoker and was a heroin addict by the time I was 14. I then became a Dad at the age of 17 and my son's Mother left us two weeks after birth. I fought to get clean and developed schizophrenia, depression and PTSD. I became hospitalised many times from suicide attempts and was sedated because I was so violent. I've mugged people, robbed shops and been through more than most people my age. I now use this to help other youth going through the same situation. We have links with a lot of outside services such as counselling and drug rehab programs.

We generally offer support for any youth who need it. A few forms need to be filled out, there is no cost - if we think the youth would benefit from the program. We do not yet have any accommodation available on site but we are working towards it. The program is usually for 8 weeks, it includes activities involving photography and performing arts. We have on-site counselors and children's psychiatrists and a range of activities for youth to get involved in. It's basically to promote new hobbies and to get them involved with others their age.

It's only just starting out, but feel free to email me for a more detailed plan of what we do and how we do it.

I hope I can be of any help, even if you just want to email me to ask something.
Just tell her she cant be around those bad influences no longer take away her cell phone any communication device and keep a close guard on her then she will half to choose what she wants to be with friends and have the luxury's in life or be disobedient then in that case give her not even an inch give her a few days to think about it then if she is still stubborn make her get a job I worked since I was 8 it kept me out of trouble and created a bright future for me I am now 16 and I taught myself self discipline in that area I never did drugs and I dont drink nor do I smoke

So take my advice try it what do you got to lose any way?? the way I see it your failing already letting a 17 yr. old girl run the show she don't need counseling thats all in the head I told my mother the same thing she used to think she was ';addicted'; thats all pre-thought garbage we say that because we cannot admit we want to fit in with todays society so if we claim to be ';addicted'; to something we have an excuse thats all it is an excuse because if she was to be a good human being those who are into bad things would criticize her and she wouldnt fit in thats all it amounts to thats what seperates the good and the bad all people can be good they just go to want to

just have a meal of desserts... make it fun and light hearted. Or make something simple like grilled burgers and then have a kick a** dessert. Depending on your/her taste, you could go with a summery fruit dessert then theres always CHOCOLATE.. they key yo a girls heart... Choc covered strawberries fondu style!

Ok, you making me hungry! have fun!
it depends on your ability to cook. think simple but not plain. do you and friend have a favorite restraunt? that way you could spend time together instead of cooking and cleaning up. if you really want to cook for her maybe do it together so there will be no suprises and you get to spend extra time together before leaving.

My son loves to bake pizzas built on top of crescent rolls.

Roll out crescents and take two and make a square. Top these with just about anything (he's pretty standard with peperoni and cheese). Cover with another two crescents and bake (about the same about of time that the crescent roll directions call for.

You could put absolutely anything as the stuffing. My wife loves vegetables (mushrooms, zuccini, grated carrots). I just empty the frig with whatever is there.

The only thing to remember is that you need to use ';precooked'; items in the center. Things like raw meat, etc. will not have enough time to cook through.

  • Could the media do more to highlight the problems of teenage drinkers?

No , not the media. What are the parents doing ?Could the media do more to highlight the problems of teenage drinkers?
The media are only interested in selling newspapers, it's more newsworthy to see people like Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty killing themselves with drugs and alcohol than any sort of campaign to help teenage drinkers, that doesn't sell newspapers.

    http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3404/3406鈥?/a>

The royal princes and princesses are also newsworthy material for all the wrong reasons.

There's a damehood waiting for you if you can convince the media to help rather than line their own pockets.Could the media do more to highlight the problems of teenage drinkers?
Are you interested in them addressing the dangers in teens' drinking and driving? Or the danger of becoming an alcoholic? Or the danger of date rape?

They could probably do more. I'm just not sure what would get this ball rolling ... a teenager (who's been drinking) who wraps his car around a tree on the way home from the prom and kills himself and his date/friends, perhaps. The thing is, teenagers feel invulnerable. So a lot of the information aimed at them -- please drink responsibly, etc. -- often falls on deaf ears.

I once played the organ at a funeral service for a 16-year-old boy. He'd been drinking and took a curve too fast, and hit a tree head-on. So sad.
yes they could, but the problem is that over the years we've all seen the hard hitting drink drive campaigns, and so the advertisers themselves have added the drink aware and drink responsibly items and still the information is not hitting home.
yes. the media should emphasize the dangers of drinking and driving. alcoholism is also an important issue.
They probably could, but I don't think its their responsibility.

The responsibility lies with the parents.
It's always been like this with teenager drinkers even back 25 years a go when I was a teenager,it's nothing new.
Not really, because there are more important things to report about.

What if your teenage daughter was pregnant?

My niece, ';Gina';, found out that she is two months pregnant. She asked me to promise not to tell her parents, but I fell as if I have to. I fell great that she feels like she can trust me, but I'm scared because I know I'll have to tell my sister and her husband. What should I do?What if your teenage daughter was pregnant?
You really shouldn't be the one to tell her parents, she needs to tell them. You can help convince her to tell them, tell her that if she doesn't tell them some time soon, then you'll need to step in and say something. It really is her own business, but i understand you are just trying to be a good aunt to your niece AND a good sister to her mom. I was 14 years old when i became pregnant with my daughter, and the first person i told was my grandmother, if she told my parents herself i would've been very upset at her. I just needed my own time to tell them (it's a really big thing). Just give her a little time to tell them, if she doesn't tell them in the next couple of weeks, then is when you should. Good luck! What if your teenage daughter was pregnant?
Well, I wouldn't ';tattle'; on her, but I would strongly urge her to tell them.Maybe suggest going with her to do so, as this would most likley make her feel a little more comfortable knowing she has you to back her up/ support her in this tough issue.

Tell her she needs to see a doctor, and get proper care for her and that baby, and so shes going to need to tell her parents so they can help her find proper care.

after all, when she starts to show, they're going to find out anyway.
Well I am 18 years old. In July I found out I was 3 mo's pregnant. I couldn't face my mom. So, I told my aunt and uncle. They promised not to tell because it would break up my whole family if my mom found out now. (They loaned me money for an abortion) I would be very mad if my aunt/uncle spilled the news. If she trusts' you with it.. I'd say keep it on the DL for a little while longer. How old is she? If she is 18+...she is an ';adult';. My aunt/uncle told me that if i was any younger than 18, they would have been forced to tell my mom..but since I'm not....they say..';you are old enough to make your own decisions';. I'd never be able to face my mom if she found out..because she does everything for me and trusts me with everything.
She needs to tell her parents herself. I would not tell her parents, if you do she will feel like she can't trust you. You can try to talk her into telling her parents now and even be there with her when she tells them (if she wants you). My mom was grateful that I could come to her first.

I wish the best for her!
Talk to your niece again, find out what her plans are for the pregnancy. Then tell her that SHE needs to tell her parents, and that you will be with her for moral support. If she refuses then tell her that you are going to inform her parents.

    Good Luck!!
You can ONLY encourage her to tell her parents, it is not your place to tell them. You need to convince your niece about telling her parents.. that's all you can do.
She has to tell them not you. Go with her and do it together.

I'm looking for a humanistic residential treatment program for teenage alcoholics. Can anyone help ?

It is not humanistic, but it is the healthiest, most rational perspective I have come across - try smartrecovery.orgI'm looking for a humanistic residential treatment program for teenage alcoholics. Can anyone help ?
An alcoholism intervention facilitates the entrance of an alcoholic individual into an alcoholism treatment program. Why not let her join an alcoholism intervention first.

    Take this one as reference:
Just tell her she cant be around those bad influences no longer take away her cell phone any communication device and keep a close guard on her then she will half to choose what she wants to be with friends and have the luxury's in life or be disobedient then in that case give her not even an inch give her a few days to think about it then if she is still stubborn make her get a job I worked since I was 8 it kept me out of trouble and created a bright future for me I am now 16 and I taught myself self discipline in that area I never did drugs and I dont drink nor do I smoke

So take my advice try it what do you got to lose any way?? the way I see it your failing already letting a 17 yr. old girl run the show she don't need counseling thats all in the head I told my mother the same thing she used to think she was ';addicted'; thats all pre-thought garbage we say that because we cannot admit we want to fit in with todays society so if we claim to be ';addicted'; to something we have an excuse thats all it is an excuse because if she was to be a good human being those who are into bad things would criticize her and she wouldnt fit in thats all it amounts to thats what seperates the good and the bad all people can be good they just go to want to
why not get a presecription for antabuse. you can just NOT drink then.

When your young teenage daughter asks, ';Were you a virgin when you got married?';?

    How would you respond?

Her father and I split up when she was really young, and he hasn't been part of her life in years. When your young teenage daughter asks, ';Were you a virgin when you got married?';?
First of all, it's a perfectly appropriate question for a teen to ask. She's at an age where she's curious about sex, and needs to get the right information about it. It's important for parents to remain open and honest about such questions. That said, I would tell her the truth. I would tell her know, and that I regret it. Give her reasons for regretting it - you thought the two of you were going to be together, but the symbol for such a commitment is marriage; you left yourself open for STD's and pregnancy, even with birth control and protection, etc. When your young teenage daughter asks, ';Were you a virgin when you got married?';?
never lie . honesty is key. do u really want your daughter to think its ok to lie? or worst, to think Your a liar? keep it real ma.
    BE HONEST.

    We teens hate being lied

to, and i'm sure your daughter

    knows chances are, you

were not a virgin when you

    got married. Let her opening

    start a conversation about sex,

but don't be preachy. And for

    goodness sakes', Mom, don't

feel the need to tell all. there are

some things we don't need to know.

    ;)
I would tell her the truth, no I was not a virgin and I had been with several people but I practiced safe sex.
    Be honest with her.

And if you weren't a virgin when you married, tell her, you know i made a mistake by not waiting till i was married, I learned from my mistake, so that I can teach you properly how to be a young lady and hold your virginity as a virtue that you give to your husband on your wedding night.

I wouldn't tell her i regret anything, for the simple fact if you regret doing something it means you learned nothing in that lesson in life.

I'm not sure how her father comes in to all of this. He isn't asking about her. So if you could explain how he comes in to this question that would be great.
Be honest and truthful, do not lie.

However, you are not required to ';bare all'; if you do not feel comfortable doing so. If there are things you do not wish to disclose, that is your right as a human being.

So, you tell honestly what you will.

For example, if you were pregnant when you got married or something like that, you may say that you regretted that you became sexually active at a young age, and that decision would change now.
    Something along the lines of '; I made some bad decisions when I was younger that I regret and really wish I could have taken back. I hope you will consider that your virginity is a special thing that shouldn't be given away lightly.';
I would tell the truth...teenagers can handle the truth.
I would say something like you are not turning the point of this towards me. But whether I was or not YOU are going to be. Unless of course you really were and then tell the truth. Reality is she probably already isn't so start now to get worried.
That is not an appropriate question for a teenager to ask an adult. I would explain this to her, and possibly punish her.

    The question would go unanswered.
just be honest with her, never lie about stuff like that. i asked my mom the same question and she answered truthfully...which was no lol. also it's how she learns to be an adult and understand that being an adult is not always fun. your mistakes will help her not make the same ones you did and thus saving her from pain and disappointment. that's a real parent lol.
I would tell her the truth. In my case I was not. But I will educate my daughter on her right to say no, and hope she makes better choices.
    answer truthfully
Tell her the truth. Kids hate smoke and mirrors when it comes to these kinds of things. They want the truth. If you weren't a virgin, then tell her, you don't have to go into detail, but if you regretted it then you should tell her that and give her a reason why.
    just be honest.

Of course, there's no need to tell kids about your old partying habits, if you had any, or any embarrassing moments you might have had, but there's also no reason to lie.
I think you should ask her why she wants to know. Does she want permission for sex with a boyfriend? Does she simply want to know more about her father?

I don't necessarily believe that you have to share information with your daughter regarding your sex life. What is relevant is the values you want to teach her.

So, I think I would tell my daughter that my sex life wasn't the question, but I would want her to feel comfortable speaking with me about her issues so that we could discuss the pros and cons of becoming sexually active at her age.
as if anybody is a virgin when they marry, tell her the truth. no!
Just be honest-she can probably take more truth than you think. She will respect your honesty, it is what healthy relationships are based on and she may feel more compelled to be honest with you if needs be.
    Be Truthful With Her.
Answer truthfully. My mom did. We always felt very open about discussing sex and things so it wasn't a big deal. Just answer her questions openly, and tell her why you did or didn't do something and how it made you feel and how it affected your life.
I would want the truth. And it wasn't that long ago I was a teenager, I'm 23. Just let her know that you loved him very much. You know giveher the run down on how its supposed to be. I think you'll be fine
That's a tough one, what do you want her to believe. What kind of morals do you have and what do you want her to have? Do you set a good example for her? Honesty is good, but sometimes kids really do not need to know their parents past , especially if it could hurt them. I know a lot of parents that have done a major change in their lifestyles and kids really do not need to know. Sometimes telling them how much you resented what you did and that you wished you could of done things differently is good. But, kids usually do like their parents do and not what they say.
don't lie cause the truth always comes out sooner or later and she will resent u for it.
I would tell her the truth.

    She obviously knows what

a virgin is, therefore she knows

about sex. Don't make up a story,

just tell her the straight-out truth.

    That's why she's asking. She's a

    teenager, and capable to know

the truth. Nothing but the truth.
dont they say honesty is the best policy? but remind her it is her choice as to when she wants to loose her virginity and that she shouldnt be pressured into it by bf's or friends
You respond, ';Yes I was a virgin when I was married,'; then you say, ';why do you ask?'; Then go from there....

You can tell her the truth later in life. It's for the best!

To mothers of teenage boys: Do your kids like to have Lan parties?

My kids (17 and 15) like to invite friends over and they connect all of their computers together and then play different online games. They call it a Lan party since the computers are networked together with a lan line.To mothers of teenage boys: Do your kids like to have Lan parties?
I think this is wonderful. Since I am a babyboomer, we didn't have computers when I was growing up. I have two grandsons who love to play computer games and I will have to suggest this to their father. Their father, my son, is a computer software engineer. This is a good idea because the kids are entertained and get to socalize at the same time. Good idea!! Thanks. To mothers of teenage boys: Do your kids like to have Lan parties?
I think is pretty cool. I live in Spain and I'd never heard about people doing these LAN parties at their homes, but many guys go to internet cafes so they play there and even sometimes there are some kind of ';meetings'; where hundreds of people go and play online all together and so they have a great time and meet new people and all that.
I've never heard of a lan party before, but I think it's better than my dorm's official pastime of watching other people play video games. I know a guy who pulled an all-nighter over spring break cause he couldn't stop playing World of Warcraft. I guess the point is that video games are pretty much a universal pastime for teenage/early twenties boys (and for the record, my college has one of the most demanding academic programs in the country - the guys I'm talking about in my dorm are by no means slackers or screw-ups). I think the idea of a lan party is pretty cool : )

PS. What's wrong with being a geek with no social life?
Yeah I'm 15 and no one I know does that, somewhat weird to be honest.
it's a normal thing, and it's pretty common. you might have to watch out though, he's probably a geek with no real social life. good luck though.
This is what we do for my oldest son's birthdays. He and his friends have a great time. None of them seem geeky to me. Just a bunch of good kids having fun.
    its normal
ok...not to be stupid...but wat does Lan Party meen? like, wat do yu do?
I think it's better than them going out and smoking weed, like all other teens. Personally, I think it's o.k. and you should let them go ahead and have fun. Just be worried about your internet bill. =P
Okay, I'm not a mom of a teenage boy, but I have three adult brothers, and a husband. My husband is 26, and he goes to LAN parties. He's a successful computer technician! And my brothers are 20, 22, and 25, in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and what do they do on the weekends? They are at LAN parties! I swear, it's all they ever do! All of them are popular %26amp; athletic too, they just really enjoy playing video games. I don't think I'd worry... It's pretty normal nowadays.

The funniest thing about holidays... My brothers have almost always had leave at X-mas time, and the three of them, along with my husband, completely disappear into the garage (where the video games are set up,) for a week at a time. The only time you ever see any of them is when they come into the house to get more beer, or to use the bathroom! (They're not alcoholics, either... So don't worry about that; it's not caused by the video games. They only drink when they're all at home together... [twice a year.])

Who knows a good prank to pull on their teenage sister?

Thanks, byee. %26lt;33Who knows a good prank to pull on their teenage sister?
Okay, this has nothign to do with Twilight, but it's a great prank...

I would be devastated and really be going over my parenting with a fine tooth comb to see if I could have done something differently or if I ignored signs before this time.
I'd do everything I could to get him help and get him well. I'd probably haul his butt to the ER first.
Not to sound rude but i would say this would be the time for an intervention and put him in a program and support group for the issue at hand teenagers are always under peer pressure and scruinty from various sources i would also suggest getting a counseler for him as well there also may other underlying issues that you may not know about but these are the first steps i would take.
I would feel horrible. First of all, if she thought he was physically ill why didn't she take him to the doctor? They would have seen what was going on and they could have caught this a lot sooner. You should never assume anything when it comes to your children's health.

How shoud a teenage boy approach another boy he likes who hasn't said he was gay but seems like it?

If you think he likes you, you could just try to get to know him better. I know I like this one guy in my school, and we've been just kind of exchanging glances like 40 times a period. Smiling randomly and just looking at each other. =] I've never felt so euphoric in my life.

But either way, if I start seeing any more signs I might have to tell him... I've already fallen in love, so maybe I have to now anyway.

But, this is about you, so... back on that topic. I'd say if you really really like him, you could tell him. If you trust him enough to keep a secret (if it is a secret), even if he ends up being straight. That's the ONLY thing that's been keeping me back, heck if I knew he was gay and interested in me... I think we'd be dating.

People ask me if I'm gay all the time, and I deny it. But, if he likes me it'll make it that much harder for him to tell me if he thinks I'm straight. Which makes me want to tell people I am.

For now, the lonely closet =] but I'll be optimistic! How shoud a teenage boy approach another boy he likes who hasn't said he was gay but seems like it?
you should just be yourself....you could ask him to hang out and get to know him more before going to far with it....make sure you and him are completly comfortable with eachother before you guys anounce any thing to eachother....i was hanging with this one guy and i finnaly told him i was gay and he got freaked out by it.....hope i helped :)How shoud a teenage boy approach another boy he likes who hasn't said he was gay but seems like it?
Try to make friends with him. Try to become close friends like hangin out all the time, one day when ya'll are hangin out ask him what he thinks of homosexuals/bisexuals. If he says he doesn't care and it's their choice, ask him if he is, if he isn't I'm sorry, if he is Congrats you just made a boyfriend :)
this is what i did when i saw a cute girl in the mall.....i walked up to her asked if she was gay FIRST then i gave her my number ahaha. you should just do that.
Don't approach him or any other guy....being gay Is far from happy
idk I'm kinda in the same boat as the asker on this one I've been there it sucks and I'm sorry to say IDK how you could.

Atheists, if your teenage child wished to join, or learn about, certain religions, would you encourage them??

    Or discourage them?

And if you are a member of a certain religion, and your kids wanted to join, or learn of other religions, would you encourage them?

Thanks!Atheists, if your teenage child wished to join, or learn about, certain religions, would you encourage them??
Any child of mine would have been raised to ask questions. I would like to think that not only would they listen but they would question too. So no, I would not withhold info or the right to interact with others different from them.Atheists, if your teenage child wished to join, or learn about, certain religions, would you encourage them??
I have an entire religion curriculum planned for my daughter's home school. I have friends in many religions who have agreed to answer questions and take my daughter on visit to their houses of worship. I even have an invitation to Egypt with some Muslim friends. I intend to make sure she is well aware of the history of all religions as well as their modern views and practices.
I'm Wiccan... our kids go to a UU (multi-faith church) Sunday School there to learn about all different religions.

At the Hindu festival Diwali they made lamps and had some kind of spiced rice pudding and learned the Hindu creation story. At Passover, a Jewish man came up and they re-enacted the story of the Exodus in the classroom and held a seder. On Christmas eve, they went to a candlelight mass and heard the story of Jesus' birth. A few weeks ago a Sunni Muslim came in, taught them some chants and demonstrated a whirling dance, and they spent a few weeks learning about the Buddah and meditating and making mandalas.

My kids also take science classes and are encouraged to learn about evolution and other scientific theories as well.
I am a Buddhist, and have been since I was about 12. My daughter has followed me, one of my sons is a Christian, and my eldest son is currently searching for himself that which will best serve his needs. Yes, I did encourage them to find what makes them happiest, even if it is no religion at all.
being an atheist, if my son is interested he would pick up the books and do research on his own. I wouldn't encourage or discourage him from doing anything.

Since there is no religion in our household, my son has to do the work on his own since he ain't getting it from us.
    I'm perfectly fine with it.

In fact, I've even STARTED teaching him about religion.

Of course, we've started with the gods and heroes of DEAD religions, like Thor and Hercules and Gilgamesh, so that he gets the point that they're just made-up stories.

I have every confidence that, by the time we get to Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, he'll be able to ';connect the dots';...

    EDIT: HAIRcut?!?!

I shaved my freaking HEAD, Apple!

Or as I like to think of it, I fired my hair before it had a chance to quit on me...
My kid would already know about them living in England, religious education is on the school curriculum, thats a lesson where kids are taught about all religions impartially and then encouraged to debate about them, while not making an assumption whether they are true or not.
Soleil, you got a hair cut... I think most atheists on here would be willing to allow their children to seek out their own beliefs when they are old enough to do so.

    **Edit**

I know, LOL! I like it, btw! Good look for ya, I think.
I would encourage them to learn about other religions even attend a church meeting ,but I wouldn't encourage them to join any group.

I also would not disown them if they did join some religion that I do not believe in or approve of
i would encourage them to examine it rationally and objectively and then make a decision. i would not try to discourage or squelch their curiosity.
I wouldn't ';encourage'; them. Nor would I discourage them. I would, however, tell them the facts as I see them.

Last year my five year old thought Zeus and Uranus were cool. Who was I to tell him anything different?
If they reached teenage years without being about to think critically and ask for evidence of any claim then I've failed as a parent.

Critical thinking plus religious teaching can only result in a person being an atheist.
I would hope they would. That's the point of questioning and discovery. I'd be disappointed if they didn't want to find out how religions work and what they teach.
My parents, who are atheist, encourage me to follow what ever faith I feel best represents my beliefs. They want to be happy even if it means having different beliefs when it comes to god(s).

    The Bard~
My offspring (like that's ever gonna happen) would know both sides of the story, in which case they'd be atheists.
I consider it a waste of time, so I wouldn't encourage it. But I wouldn't stop it either.
Learning and studying are never bad.
I would encourage my children to LEARN, not JOIN. Once they learn, joining wont be an issue.
yes, everyone to his own... i'd encourage them
Of course they should encourage them, if they can't save their own soul they should at least try to save their child's..

    1. Vehicle safety - With current ERP rates, who would want to pay more.

    2. Teenage Problems - Is it teenage problems or PARENTS problems or an overall SINGAPOREAN problem...who knows.

    3. Public Transportation - Better services = higher fares

    4. Educations - Tell you this. Lots of primary schools are promoting internet learning but don't let younger student use the school computers. Guess what! ANY singapore family own a computer with hi-speed internet access but not EVERY.

Ones should always practise how to shut up for a better life as they are raise to do and not making complaints everyday thus making life for others miserable. Why are there so few questions about vehicle safety, teenage problems, public transportation, education, etc?
i think singaporean do not have much time to ask these question... too busy with work, family, education, transport....

I'm a teenage girl who is attracted to female and male bodies but only attracted to male personalities, huh?

I dont know who I'm more physically attracted to, males of females...I'm a teenage girl who is attracted to female and male bodies but only attracted to male personalities, huh?
You could be bisexual, but won't know until you actually try ';it'; with a girl. Lots of people are. You could have meaningless sex with women, but would want a relationship with men only. Just be careful if you are, and if when you find a guy that you really like, if you bring a girl into the relationship...it has a big possibility to end. Guys love bi girls because they think that they will get action out of you and whoever you like---girl wise. If it grosses you out whenever you try being ';active'; with a girl, then you're not bi. Lots of girls are attracted to women's bodies, because they are just feminine. I'm suprised guys can turn gay and not be interested in a woman's body, they are just amazing. Don't worry about it! ;-)I'm a teenage girl who is attracted to female and male bodies but only attracted to male personalities, huh?
    Hey there

It's possible you are attracted to both and could be bisexual. And bisexuality is quite fluid in that it changes and is not always fixed.

You may find you are equally attracted to men and women, but are more drawn to men emotionally. Or you may find you are equally attracted emotionally to men and women, but more drawn to women physically.

You are still a teen..and when I was a teen my feelings were still developing. Just go with it and explore your feelings.

Seems like you are bi. I love a girls body too, they are so slim and smooth and curvy and sexy, yum mm, but I like a guys too, strong and firm and big. You can find girls who are more like guys mentally, they are called tomboys. I never liked the really fluffy girly girl types either, but I don't like the jock guys - selfish car lovin' rednecks. ugh.

    gimme somebody with a BRAIN!
I'm quite simalar! Quite odd really, just a bit different: I'm attracted to male and female bodies, but only female's personalities (no fem. guys! definitely not!).. i'm quite confused really T.T
im a boy, im attracted to male and female, and none of their personalities
You answered your own question - see

I'm a teenage girl who is attracted to female and male bodies

So why ask us when you answer yourself.

You're bi - so what - have fun - life is too short
men's bodies are ugly but doesn't mean ur lesbian. Women are not designed to find men's bodies attractive it's just the tv that suggests we do
Have sex with both till you figure it out! That is if ur 18!

No I don't think it is weird to jog on the road by yourself. But what I usually do is run on a school track.IS it weird if i use to jog in the road while no one is a teenage dere and event he old ones are walking.?
don't worry about what others think you are getting exercise and improving your health. you really don't need to lose a lot of weight just enough to get your body fat to where you want it. if you want to get close to having a 6-pack then you need to be around 12% body fat. at 8-10% body the abs usually look pretty kick a$$
don't worry if it feels weird to you. most teenagers don't really care about their weight so they won't be out exercising on the road (as you say).

    i take 73 means 73kg. i'm 60kg and 5ft5. you're much taller so i wouldn't call you overweight.

you could lose 5-7kg in a month or two.

  • I am a teenage and I want to know what is a good car for me?

I am a junior in High School and I will be going to Clemson University in 2 years. I want a car and I have a couple in mind. I was thinking of a Mitsubishi Galant, Honda Civic, and a Chevy S10. If you have other cars in mind, please tell me. ThanksI am a teenage and I want to know what is a good car for me?
hyundia is a great car for the money, i know they arent the best car company in many peoples minds, i have a 2000 elantra, and i love it, it handles great has 100k miles on it runs great, havent had to pay almost anything for upkeep, great gas milage, and is CHEAP, plus they have incredible warrenties which is what u want as a college student if something goes wrong they'll fix it 100k bumper to bumper warrenty best in the bussiness, GET A HYUNDAI!!!!!!I am a teenage and I want to know what is a good car for me?
    honda civic type-r
Before you buy a car, consider this: All cars need maintenance and repair.

What you pay for the car when you buy it is only the down payment on a series of ongoing expenses.

Don't buy a car with a cheap price tag and think you've won the battle. Whatever car you get will continue to cost you.

    SO

Get a car that you won't mind spending money on. In other words, get a car you like. Better yet, get a car you love.

If you don't love cars . . . if a car is nothing more than an appliance to you, find out what car will cost you less in the long run. I'll tell you how:

I'm not suggesting you should lease a car, but call a car leasing outfit (your credit union would be a good source) and find out what the CHEAPEST car is to LEASE.

You'll be surprised that the cheapest cars to buy are the most expensive cars to lease! This is because they have a low re-sale value and at the end of the lease term, they don't put enough money back into the lease, so they have to charge more per month!

The cheapest car to lease will also be the cheapest car to buy and drive over the short term. You may find the cheapest car to lease is a fully loaded, whiz bang, la-dee-dah car.

If I were you I would eliminate the S10 from the choices. The Mitsubishi may be as good a car as the Honda and may cost less initially, but because of low resale, it may cost you more in the long run. If you're going to drive it until it's ready for the glue factory, by all means, buy the Mit, but if you plan on recovering some of your investment by reselling it in 3 to 5 years, buy the Honda.

    .
honda or toytota. also my mom has a mazda protege that has NEVER broke down and its old. i have a honda civic and its my love and its really old. my grandpa had a toytot thats lasted more then 25 years.
definatley get a 4x4 toyota truck..... you'll never have to worry about anything...
for best all around use, the galant or honda, for low cost on maintenance the s10. with that much money, i'd find a used car from an individual for about 4500, then keep the rest for any add-ons you may want. have ANY car you buy from an individual, checked by a good mechanic. if you go to a used car lot, make it a well-known dealer or a new car dealer's used line. the tote the note lots are a rip-off. they make it seem, good, but the car may be a worn out hunk of junk. there are ways to get a car to look and drive good, but they go bad real quick.

the best thing would be for you to buy an older vehicle and do a rebuild yourself. you'll learn about the vehicle, and you'll appreciate it and care for it because you'll want it to be a showpiece for you. you'll also learn how to maintain it better.

rebuilding is not that difficult, just have someone there to guide you through it the first time, any other times you'll already know what to do.
honda civic, because it is fuel economical, have room to carry a few passengers and luggage. parts are everywhere, easy to maintain. resell is good, reliability is great.

other cars you may want to look for is toyota corolla.
While the concensus seems to be Honda, look at a four or five year old Saturn with about 80000 miles on it. These cars are fuel efficient, relatively easy to maintain, and well built. Parts are readily available all over the US. They don't rust. They all look just alike, but at least they are not ugly. They are small enough to fit in the typical college parking space. And they run well on 10%ethanol. The chevy S10 is not a good vehicle for college- they take up too much parking space, and lack fuel efficiency. (I assume you have about as much money as I did when I went to college...)
you have good choices remember a 4 cylinder engine is cheaper for insurance and gas also remember the use you will give it (it is kind of hard to haul a mattress and dresser) Chevy and Toyota are very durable also cheap and easy to fix your self with the help of a repair manual sold at almost any auto parts store
I would look into the history of these cars for the following:

    1. Safety

    2. Reliability (less fixing up over %26amp; over)

    3. Miles per gallon

I would look at all three, and choose the most practical one.
